A case of lipoma of the falciform ligament was demonstrated using computed tomography (CT), ultrasonography (US), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). US demonstrated a heterogeneous solid mass anteriorly in the upper portion of the abdomen. CT and MRI revealed a solitary, fatty mass with a small amount of soft tissue in it.

Inferior mesenteric artery branch avulsion from blunt trauma--CT findings. Case report.
Mesenteric arterial injuries are uncommon following blunt abdominal trauma. We describe the computed tomography (CT) findings of a patient with avulsion of a branch of the inferior mesenteric artery following a low-speed motor vehicle accident.

Twelve patients with bronchial obstruction secondary to either cancer or broncholith were evaluated with chest radiography and computed tomography (CT). Chest radiography showed nonspecific lobar consolidation (12 cases), bulging fissure (6 cases), and air bronchogram (1 case). CT revealed air bronchogram, CT angiogram sign, bulging fissure, and fluid bronchogram in all six cases with partial bronchial obstruction (except for absence of air bronchogram in one case). ⋯ CT angiogram signs and air bronchograms were observed in only half of the patients. CT is, therefore, very useful in detailed evaluation of postobstructive pulmonary consolidation. We particularly stress that the term "CT fluid bronchogram" should be applied when the bronchi are filled with fluid instead of air.

The computed tomography (CT) findings in two cases of posttraumatic bamboo foreign bodies imbedded for many years in lung parenchyma are presented. These foreign bodies consisted of relatively cylindrical structures of high density, and were highly suggestive of bamboo.

Deceleration injuries combined with hyperflexion of the torso as seen in motor vehicle accidents can result in combination of sternal and spinal fractures. This type of injury is associated with abnormalities of the soft tissue structures of the thorax. This publication reviews a case report of a deceleration injury and emphasizes the imaging modalities necessary to evaluate this constellation of abnormalities.
