Hemodynamic changes in lipid emulsion therapy (SMOFlipid) for bupivacaine toxicity in swines.
To evaluate the hemodynamic changes following SMOFlipid emulsion therapy with after bupivacaine intoxication in swines. ⋯ The SMOFlipid emulsion is a option for reversing hypotension in cases of intoxication by bupivacaine.

Association of mesenchymal stem cells with platelet rich plasma on the repair of critical calvarial defects in mice.
To evaluate the effects of mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) from eight mice C57BL/6 gfp(+) bone marrows expanded in cultures associated with platelets rich plasma (PRP) deriving from another eight mice, in the repair of critical defects in calvarial bone produced in twenty-four adult isogenic mice C57BL/6. ⋯ Mesenchymal stem cells derived from bone marrow of C57BL/6 gfp(+) mice associated with PRP gel applied in bone critical defects produced in calvarial contributes positively to the process of bone repair.

Effect of N-acetylcysteine on lung injury induced by skeletal muscle ischemia-reperfusion. Histopathlogical study in rat model.
To investigate whether N-acetylcysteine, a free radicals scavenger has a protective effect against lung injury as a remote organ after skeletal muscle ischemia-reperfusion. ⋯ Administration of N-acetylcysteine treatment significantly decreased lung injury induced by skeletal muscle ischemia reperfusion according to histological findings.

Comparative StudyEffects of controlled and pressure support mechanical ventilation on rat diaphragm muscle.
The objective of this study was to analyze the effects of Pressure Controlled Ventilation mode (PCV-C) and PSV mode in diaphragm muscle of rats. ⋯ Short-term controlled mechanical ventilation seems to lead to muscular atrophy in diaphragm fibers. The PSV mode may attenuate the effects of VIDD.

Comparative StudyElectroanalgesia for the postoperative control pain in dogs.
To evaluate the analgesic and neuroendocrine effects of electroanalgesia in dogs undergoing ovariohysterectomy. ⋯ Preoperative application of electrical stimuli to acupuncture points isolated or in combination with peri-incisional dermatomes provides a reduced postoperative opioid requirement and promotes an effective analgesia in dogs undergoing ovariohysterectomy.
