Leptin and Hyperlipidemia in Primigrivida Preeclamptic Women and Normotensive Women.
To measure and compare serum levels of leptin and lipid profile parameters in primigravida women with PE and normotensive primigravida. ⋯ The mean serum levels of leptin (ng/ml) in PE (group A) were significantly raised compared to normotensive PG (group B) at 33.44±12.91 and 4±6.20 respectively (p.

Case ReportsA Case of Neuromyelitis Optica with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.
Neuromyelitis Optica (NMO) is a rare idiopathic autoimmune demyelinating disease of the central nervous system (CNS) having a relapsing course. It consists of optic neuritis, longitudinally extensive transverse myelitis (LETM) which involves 3 or more neighbouring portions of the spine and positive serology for anti-NMO IgG antibodies. NMO is often misdiagnosed as multiple sclerosis (MS). ⋯ She had seropositivity for anti-aquaporin-4 (anti-AQP4) receptor antibody. An accurate clinical diagnosis is important to initiate timely immunosuppressive therapy to prevent disability. Key Words: Neuromyelitis Optica, Transverse myelitis, Systemic lupus erythematosus.

Meta AnalysisThe Effect of Orthokeratology Lens on the Axial Length of Globe in Children with Myopia in Asia.
The aim of this meta-analysis was to determine the effect of orthokeratology (OK) lens on the axial length of the eye globe of Asian children with myopia of low and moderate degree compared with children treated with glasses. PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library were searched to collect relative researches on the treatment of OK lens in myopia children from January 2000 to July 2021. The authors adopted the standardised mean difference (SMD) as effect size, to estimate the pooled changes of axial length in Asian myopic children. ⋯ According to the follow-up time, the subgroup analysis demonstrated that, SMD = -0.68 (95%CI: -1.43 ~ 0.08, p>0.05) for six months; SMD = -1.00 (95 %CI: -1.38~-0.62, p<0.05) for 12 months; SMD=-0.71 (95%CI: -1.20~-0.21, p<0.05) for two years. In conclusion, in the early treatment, compared with glasses, children with low and moderate myopia wearing OK lenses were more effective in reducing axial elongation in Asia. This cross-sectional analytical study was carried out to determine the frequency of frailty in patients on haemodialysis and to identify predictive clinical parameters. Patients were selected using convenience sampling. Exclusion criteria included acute kidney injury, non-compliance to hemodialysis, limited physical mobility due to cerebrovascular or rheumatological diseases, acute infections and unwillingness. ⋯ On univariate analysis, increasing age, female gender, triceps skin fold thickness and hand grip strength were predictive of frailty. However, only increasing age (p<0.001) was predictive of frailty in multivariate analysis. Key Words: Haemodialysis, Physical performance, Renal replacement therapy.
