Meta AnalysisIntravenous Alteplase Treatment of Acute Ischemic Stroke Patients Exhibiting Mild Neurological Deficits.
Alteplase is increasingly used for treating ischemic stroke cases with low NIHSS scores, but the guidelines and evidence regarding outcomes are lacking. So, the authors conducted an updated meta-analysis to better understand the effects of alteplase for the treatment of acute mild ischemic stroke. PubMed, Cochrane, EMBASE were systematically explored for all relevant investigations published as in September 2021. ⋯ Subgroup analysis showed that the function outcomes was the best within 3-4.5 hours; and the risk and mortality of sICH were the lowest within 3-4.5 hours. Intravenous rt-PA administration is associated with improved functional outcomes at three months after the stroke in mild ischemic stroke patients. Key Words: Acute ischemic stroke, Mild, Alteplase, Meta-analysis.

Outcome of Post-intubation Tracheal Stenosis (PITS) with Primary Resection and Anastomosis.
To ascertain the outcome of primary resection anastomosis in patients of post-intubation tracheal stenosis (PITS) and the associated morbidity. ⋯ Post-intubation tracheal stenosis (PITS) is curable disease. Primary resection and anastomosis remain the gold standard with acceptable morbidity and mortality. Key Words: Tracheal stenosis, Intubation, Resection, Primary anastomosis.

HALP Score as a New Prognostic Index in Metastatic Renal Cell Cancer.
To evaluate prognostic significance of the new index, designed by formulating hemoglobin, albumin, lymphocyte, and platelet (HALP) counts in patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma (RCC). ⋯ The HALP score in metastatic RCC patients was closely related to the prognosis. Worse OS was found in patients with a low HALP score. Key Words: HALP score, Overall survival, Progression-free survival, Renal cell carcinoma.

Neurotrophic Factor Levels and Cognitive Functions before and after the Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation in Treatment Resistant Depression.
To determine relationship between the therapeutic effect of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) on cognitive impairment and brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), glial cell derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) levels in treatment resistant depression (TRD). ⋯ rTMS treatment contributes to the antidepressant effect by normalising serum BDNF and GDNF levels in patients with TRD. Adding rTMS to antidepressants is, therefore, an appropriate treatment option for depressive patients with cognitive impairment. Key Words: rTMS, BDNF, GDNF, Cognitive function.

The Association of Elevated Serum Lipids with Occurrence and Severity of Diabetic Retinopathy in Type II Diabetics Presenting in a Tertiary Care Hospital.
A descriptive, cross-sectional study, was conducted in the Department of Internal Medicine and Ophthalmology, Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, Islamabad, Pakistan, from May to November 2018. The aim was to ascertain the frequency of elevated serum lipids and diabetic retinopathy; and compare the serum lipid levels with severity of diabetic retinopathy among Type II diabetic patients. A total of 262 patients having Type II diabetes aged 35 to 65 years were included. ⋯ Several risk factors play a vital role in the development, morbidity, and progression of diabetic eye disease. Age and dyslipidemia are significant factors in the severe disease. Key Words: Diabetic retinopathy, Dyslipidemia, Hyperglycemia, High HbA1c, Maculopathy.
