Risk Factors for Renal Involvement in Childhood Henoch-Schonlein Purpura (IgA Vasculitis).
This study was designed to investigate the risk factors for renal involvement in children with immunoglobulin A (IgA) vasculitis. It is a hospital-based retrospective cohort study with a sample size of 117 children aged ≤16 years with primary IgA vasculitis. Out of 117 patients, 49 (41.9%) developed renal injury. ⋯ These variables were included in the multivariate logistic regression analysis. Results showed that elevated D-dimer level, older age, and GIB were independent risk factors for renal damage in patients with IgA vasculitis. Key Words: Henoch-schonlein purpura, Immunoglobulin A vasculitis, Nephritis, D-dimer, Risk factors.
