Clinical Analysis of Pancreaticoduodenectomies for Benign Pathologies.
To evaluate the clinical, laboratory and imaging data of patients who underwent pancreatoduodenectomy (PD) for proven benign pathologies. ⋯ Patients with benign pathology were found to have better parameters of CRP and total bilirubin. PD was performed in patients with mass in the pancreas; and whose cancer risk could not be ruled out. To reduce PD due to benign causes, patients with undiagnosed lesions should be evaluated with a multidisciplinary approach, and diagnostic tools should be cross-checked. PET/CT may also be useful in the differential diagnosis. Key Words: Benign, Diagnosis, Pancreas, Pancreaticoduodenectomy, Pathology.

Survival and Prognostic Factors in Limited-stage Small-cell Lung Cancer.
To evaluate the factors affecting overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) in patients with limited stage-small cell lung cancer (LS-SCLC). ⋯ In this study, younger age, better ECOG status, stage I-II disease, and complete response to CRT had a favourable impact on OS and PFS in LS-SCLC. In addition, PCI has been shown to increase survival in these patients. Key Words: Limited-stage, Small-cell lung cancer, Thoracic radiotherapy, Chemoradiotherapy.

Observational StudyThe Role of Ca 19-9, Ca 72-4, Cea and Cholesterol Levels in Predicting Malignancy in Gallbladder Polyps.
To determine the association of malignancy potential of gallbladder polyps with tumor markers and cholesterol levels, and at which value the presence of malignancy should be suspected. ⋯ Polyps larger than 11mm with high levels of CEA, Ca 72-4, Ca 19-9, evaluated together, may act as a guide for the clinician in predicting malignancy. The availability of economical and accessible parameters may allow a new algorithm to be developed in the treatment and follow-up approach of gallbladder polyps. Key Words: Gallbladder polpys, Ca 19-9 antigen, Ca 72-4 antigen, Tumor marker, Gallbladder cancer.

Observational StudyStandard Modifiable Cardiovascular Risk Factors and Prognosis of Acute Coronary Syndrome in Younger Patients.
To investigate standard modifiable cardiovascular risk factors (SMuRFs) and prognosis of patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) aged 50 years or younger. ⋯ Younger patients with ACS were more likely to have at least one SMuRFs; and were likely to have a better prognosis than older patients. Key Words: Coronary artery disease, Acute coronary syndrome, Middle aged, Risk factors, Prognosis.

To evaluate immunohistochemical (IHC) staining of decorin and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) of ovarian and endometrial tissues in patients with and without endometriosis. Study Design: Descriptive study. ⋯ Angiogenesis plays a critical role in endometriosisand interaction between decorin and VEGF,which suggests that decorin may be a promising molecule for the treatment of endometriosis. Key Words: Decorin, Endometriosis, Immunohistochemical staining, Vascular endothelial Growth factor.
