Efficacy of Surgical Tissue Glues and Supporters for Treatment of Prolonged Air Leaks in Bullous Emphysema.
To investigate the effect of collagen matrix tissue supporter made of bovine pericardium and polyethylene glycol (PEG) tissue glue on prolonged air leak and postoperative complications in patients with bullous emphysema. ⋯ Using coseal with a tissue supporter like Peristrips reduces postoperative complications, time to chest tube removal, and duration of hospital stay compared to its stand alone use.

Controlled Clinical TrialAudiovisual Distraction: A Pricking Pain Reduction Modality among Ladies Receiving Intraoral Injections.
To determine the effect of audiovisual distraction (AVD) using virtual reality device (bobo VRZ4-VRBOX) on intensity of pricking pain at the intraoral injection site among different age groups in ladies. ⋯ AV device is not dependent on age (21-50 years) in reducing the pricking pain. Pain is effectively reduced after the use of AV device, but this reduction is not statistically significant.

Case ReportsOptical Trocar Causing Aortic Injury: A Potentially Fatal Complication of Minimal Access Surgery.
Trocar injury to abdominal aorta is uncommon and even rare with optical trocars. Such injury, resulting from umbilical trocar insertion, is potentially fatal. ⋯ Immediate recognition of the injury, deployment of life-saving manoeuvres, timely resuscitation, followed by definitive repair of aorta by vascular surgeon was life-saving for this patient. The recovery phase was uneventful and patient had no residual clinical problems during follow-up.
