Multicenter Study Comparative StudyEarly surgical site infection in adult appendicular skeleton trauma surgery: a multicenter prospective series.
Surgical site infections (SSI) studies rely on an imprecise and debatable definition. The term "wound healing problems" (WHP), not necessarily septic, is also frequently cited. This study had the objectives of determining the frequency of early SSIs in traumatology, these terms eventual correlation, and the factors influencing onset. ⋯ Level III.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyEfficacy of tranexamic acid on blood loss after primary cementless total hip replacement with rivaroxaban thromboprophylaxis: A case-control study in 70 patients.
Perioperative blood loss is a frequent cause of complications in total hip replacement (THR). The present prospective study assessed the efficacy of tranexamic acid (Exacyl(®)) in reducing blood loss in primary THR associated to rivaroxaban (Xarelto(®)) thromboprophylaxis. ⋯ Level III prospective case-control study.

Comparative StudyExtension-block pinning for fracture-dislocation of the proximal interphalangeal joint.
Dorsal fracture-dislocation of the proximal interphalangeal joint is an unstable fracture that associates the anterior marginal fracture of the second phalangeal base and the dorsal dislocation of the proximal interphalangeal joint under the influence of the median band traction of the extensor apparatus. Stiffness and residual pain are frequent sequelae. Treatment involves choosing between the various methods with the objective of providing stable reduction allowing early mobilization. ⋯ Level IV retrospective study.
