Total hip arthroplasty offset measurement: is C T scan the most accurate option?
Femoral offset is difficult to precisely evaluate with conventional X-ray techniques. Femoral offset characterizes the balance between body weight and the resistance provided by the abductor muscles. Total hip arthroplasties should respect this balance. ⋯ Level III diagnostic prospective study.

Experimental study of tendon healing early phase: is IGF-1 expression influenced by platelet rich plasma gel?
It is well established that growth factors play a critical role in the healing process of connective tissues. To our knowledge, there are no studies in literature concerning the influence of PRP on growth factors expression. ⋯ Laboratory control animal study.

After more than 10 years' experience in France, the French Foot Surgery Association (Association française de chirurgie du pied [AFCP]) presents an update on mobile-bearing ankle prostheses, based on a multicenter study. META-ANALYSIS - BIOMECHANICS - ASSESSMENT AND INDICATIONS: A preliminary comparative meta-analysis of the literature studies on ankle and prosthesis biomechanics, reviews validated indications and contra-indications, and details clinical and radiological outcomes assessment protocols. ⋯ This multioperator, multi-implant series of 592 patients confirmed literature data. Prospective follow-up of the cohorts managed in these expert centers is essential, in order to make available long-term data.

Long-term outcome of distal ulna resection-stabilisation procedures in post-traumatic radio-ulnar joint disorders.
Distal radius fractures represent 20% of fractures in adults. Although good results are usually obtained with treatment, functional sequelae are not uncommon, with injury of the distal radio-ulnar joint (DRUJ) being the most frequent. Various treatments have been described to address these disorders. Distal ulna resection-stabilisation (DURS) is our technique of choice when preservation of the DRUJ is impossible. ⋯ Level IV retrospective therapeutic study.

Comparative StudyBiomechanical comparison of plate-screw and screw fixation in medial tibial plateau fractures (Schatzker 4). A model study.
The objective of this biomechanical study was to compare the respective efficiency of plate-screw fixation and screw fixation in an experimental model of a Schatzker type 4 fracture. ⋯ According to this result, experimental load bearing of bone models indicate that plate-screw fixation system has a significantly higher stabilization capacity than fixation with three screws alone. Our hypothesis was not confirmed. In order to maintain anatomical repositioning, plate-screw system is a more stable fixation method than the screw in medial tibial plateau fractures Schatzker 4 LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: 1.
