Hybrid minimally invasive endoscopic approach for gaseous protrusion causing L5 radiculopathy.
We present an illustrative case of a hybrid approach between minimally invasive and endoscopic spine surgery techniques. We utilized this hybrid approach for the first 3 cases to help diminish the learning curve as we started a spinal endoscopy program. The patient is an 85-year-old woman with a prior history of arthrodesis at L3-5. ⋯ Given the difficult visualization, a 30-degree endoscopic probe was used, which enabled real-time visualization of the gaseous protrusion being released in the liquid medium. After decompression, microscopic visualization was used for confirmation, with the patient obtaining a good surgical outcome and complete relief of her presenting pain. This case illustrates the synergism between endoscopic and minimally invasive spine surgery techniques and the unique advantages of enabling visualization of spinal anatomy through a liquid medium with the use of an endoscope.1-3.

The safety and Efficacy of eCLIPs for Treatment of Wide-Necked Bifurcation Aneurysms; A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis.
Wide-necked bifurcation aneurysms (WNBAs) are challenging intracranial aneurysms. Several device and treatment approaches have been proposed for the treatment of WNBAs. The endovascular clip system (eCLIPs) is a newly developed endovascular device with flow diverter and flow disruptor features. This study aims to investigate the safety and efficacy of the eCLIPs for treatment of patients with WNBAs. ⋯ Our findings document that the eCLIPs is a safe and effective device for treating patients with WNBAs and associated with favorable outcomes.

Axial symptoms after conventional and modified laminoplasty: a meta-analysis.
The study aims to evaluate the impact of procedural variations in single-door laminoplasty on axial symptoms (AS) and neurologic outcomes. ⋯ This meta-analysis demonstrates that modified laminoplasty is associated with a significant reduction in the incidence and severity of axial symptoms, without compromising neurologic functionality.

Three-dimensionally (3D) printed polyether-ether-ketone (PEEK) implants are a relatively novel option for cranioplasty that have recently gained popularity. However, there is ongoing debate with respect to material efficacy and safety compared to autologous bone grafts. The purpose of this study was to offer our institution's experience and add to the growing body of literature. ⋯ PEEK cranioplasty implants may offer more favorable perioperative complication profiles with similar long-term complication rates and hospital LoS compared to autologous bone implants. Future studies are warranted to confirm our findings in larger series, and further examine the utility of PEEK in cranioplasty.

Patients with moyamoya disease (MMD) and fetal-type posterior cerebral arteries have not been thoroughly investigated as yet. We focused on the risk of intracranial hemorrhage in patients with MMD and fetal-type posterior cerebral arteries. ⋯ Hemorrhagic events occurred more frequently in patients with MMD with fetal-type posterior cerebral arteries than in those without.
