Impact of Breathing Control Training Program on sonographic quantification of abdominal vasculature.
To compare vascular scanning parameters (vessel diameter, peak systolic velocity, end-diastolic velocity, and resistive index) and scanning time before and after breathing control training program for selected abdominal vessels. ⋯ The breathing training program saves time and improves ultrasound measurement quality. Hospitals and health centers should consider the importance of breathing control training programs before abdominal scanning.

To research the effects of blood cortisol and hemoglobinA1c (HBA1C) levels on mortality in patients admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) and whether these factors could be used as reliable indicators for mortality risk assessment in these patients. ⋯ Cortisol levels at the time of admission to the ICU were found to affect mortality and can be considered a predictive factor, while HBA1C levels showed no such effect. Our findings indicate that neither cortisol nor HBA1C levels had an impact on the duration of mechanical ventilation or length of stay in the ICU.

To assess the clinical relevance and prognostic value of changes in the Naples prognostic score (NPS) after neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (NACR) among esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) patients. ⋯ Elevated NPS post-NACR emerged as a significant indicator of worse prognosis for locally advanced ESCC patients who underwent NACR. This finding has great potential to be useful for recognizing high-risk ESCC patients who received NACR before undergoing esophagectomy and making individualized subsequent therapeutic decisions in clinical practice.

Review Case Reports
Bilateral renal lymphangiectasia: Literature review of a rare entity.
Renal lymphangiectasia (RL) is a rare condition in which lymphatic vessels are dilated giving rise to cyst formation in peripelvic, perirenal and intrarenal locations. Knowledge about RL is limited and based upon individual case reports. This can be genetic or acquired. ⋯ Due to rarity of diseases, it has potential to be misdiagnosed as other cystic disease of kidneys. The treatment is mainly conservative but prolonged follow up for associated complications like hypertension and renal vein thrombosis is required. We have presented a case of bilateral renal lymphangiectasia with the review of available literature.
