To evaluate the various skin conditions diagnosed in intensive care unit (ICU) patients. ⋯ Dermatological disorders can occur at various levels of severity in the ICU. Skin infections, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, and drug reactions were found to be the most prevalent conditions.

To identify biomarkers that can discriminated small cell lung cancer (SCLC) from non-SCLC (NSCLC), and explore their association with the prognosis of SCLC under chemoradiotherapy. ⋯ MTHFD1 expressions might be a novel specifically prognostic biomarker for SCLC and the CRT treatment outcome.

Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is an autoimmune disorder marked by low platelet counts that puts patients at risk for spontaneous bleeding. A rare trigger for ITP is iron repletion, which has only been reported in a few cases. ⋯ Following more than 30 years of the patient's clinical timeline, this case demonstrates the chronic nature of ITP and the complexity of its causes. Further studies are needed to determine the prevalence of iron repletion-induced thrombocytopenia and its underlying mechanisms.

To uncover the predictive value of systemic immune-inflammatory index (SII) and systemic inflammatory response index (SIRI) on early pregnancy loss. ⋯ This study provides compelling evidence that various inflammatory pathways may significantly contribute to EPL pathogenesis. Moreover, our findings suggest that SIRI could be a more effective marker than NLR, PLR, MLR, and SII in predicting EPL in an ongoing pregnancy, thereby potentially revolutionizing early pregnancy loss diagnostics.

Effect of the prone position on mechanical power in elective surgical patients under general anesthesia: A prospective observational study.
To evaluate how the prone position influences mechanical power (MP) during elective surgical procedures. ⋯ Position changes influence MP. Returning to the prone position increases MP. An increase in BMI is associated with an increase in MP.ANZCTR Reg. No.: ACTRN12623001281684.
