[Drug sensitivity analysis of Mycobacterium chelonae and Mycobacterium abscessus and evaluation of Etest for susceptibility testing].
To study the drug resistance profile of Mycobacterium(M.) chelonae and M.abscessus and to evaluate the clinical application of Etest(epsilometer test) for susceptibility testing. ⋯ Isolates of M.chelonae and M.abscessus exhibit far more susceptibility to amikacin, cefoxitin and clarithromycin than any other antimicrobial agents.Linezolid and tobramycin showed sensitivity to some isolates of M.chelonae.It is suitable for the Etest method as a simple reliable method for the drug susceptibility of amikacin, ciprofloxacin, clarithromycin, doxycycline, imipenem, and tobramycin except to cefoxitin and linezolid. The Etest method of determining sulfamethoxazole susceptibility should be careful.

[Daytime hypercapnia in patients with obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome].
To evaluate the incidence and factors related to daytime CO2 retention (PaCO2 ≥ 45 mm Hg, 1 mm Hg = 0.133 kPa) in Chinese patients with obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome. ⋯ Hypercapnia occurs in a large part of patients with OSAHS and normal FEV1/FVC. BMI, nocturnal hypoxemia and daytime PaO2 level are all contributed to the development of daytime CO2 retention in OSAHS.

Comparative Study[Single-breath and rebreathing methods for measurement of pulmonary diffusing function: a comparative study].
To compare the difference of pulmonary diffusing capacity measured by single-breath (SB) and re-breathing (RB) in normal subjects, patients with interstitial lung disease (ILD) and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). ⋯ There were differences between re-breathing and single-breath in measuring diffusing capacity. The present predicted value of the re-breathing method needed further study to confirm its applicability. Re-breathing method was more consistent with the respiratory physiology, and might be a better method to detect diseased states.
