[Anatomic distribution of embolus at CT pulmonary angiography in patients suspected acute pulmonary embolism].
To summarize and analyse the morphology and distribution of embolus in patients suspected acute pulmonary embolism. ⋯ It was not unusual for the peripheral thrombosis, and can be improved to detect peripheral thrombosis by thin-slice CT scan. The distribution of embolus in pulmonary vascular and the distribution of blood flow was consistent, the number of embolus in right lung were more than left lung, and lower lobes more than upper lobes and middle lobes.

[Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation for acute respiratory distress syndrome: a study of 11 cases].
To evaluate the value of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) for adult patients with severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). ⋯ Available data and our experience suggest that ECMO may be an effective salvage treatment for severe ARDS and should be used as early as possible for ARDS patients responding poorly to conventional mechanical ventilation support.

Multicenter Study[Adult hospital acquired pneumonia: a multicenter study on microbiology and clinical characteristics of patients from 9 Chinese cities].
To investigate the etiology and clinical characteristics of hospital-acquired pneumonia (HAP) in China and to provide evidence for appropriate therapy. ⋯ Among Chinese patients hospitalized in urban tertiary medical centers, HAP incidence and mortality rate were high, which increased the patients' hospital stay and the medical costs. Common pathogens were A. baumannii, P. aeruginosa, S. aureus and K. pneumonia. The common bacteria of HAP in China showed high resistance rates to antibiotics.

[The role of 4-hydroxynonenal in assessment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease severity].
To measure the levels of 4-hydroxynonenal (4-HNE), TNF-α and IL-6 in patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD) and stable COPD, and therefore to explore the role of 4-HNE in the assessment of COPD severity. ⋯ The serum levels of 4-HNE in COPD patients with different smoking status were all significantly elevated, particular in patients with acute exacerbation and with pulmonary heart disease. In patients with stable COPD, the 4-HNE levels were negatively correlated with FEV(1)% and positively with serum IL-6 levels. It may be a valuable biomarkers for the assessment of COPD severity.
