[Evaluation of the characteristic of alveolar recruitment and derecruitment with the static pressure-volume curve in rabbits with acute respiratory distress syndrome].
To evaluate the value of static pressure-volume (P-V) curve during alveolar recruitment and derecruitment in mechanical ventilated rabbits with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), and to explore the lung protective ventilation strategies. ⋯ During inspiration, alveolar recruitment takes place with alveolar overinflation. The compliance of P-V curve is correlated with insufficient region volume, and reflects the potential of lung recruitment, and can predict the alveolar opening pressure and closing pressure.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Comparative Study[Comparison of tiotropium inhalation capsules and ipratropium metered dose inhaler in a randomized, double-blind, double-dummy, efficacy and safety study in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease].
To compare the efficacy and safety between tiotropium capsule and ipratropium MDI in a 4 week treatment in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). ⋯ The results indicated that tiotropium 18 microg once per day is more potent than ipratropium qid. in bronchodilation to COPD patients with the similar tolerance of ipratropium.

[The effect of interleukin-7 and interleukin-15 on the production of Th1 and Th2 cytokines by peripheral blood mononuclear cells from patients with tuberculosis].
To investigate the effect of interleukin-7 and interleukin-15 on the production of Th1 cytokines interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) and Th2 cytokines interleukin-4 (IL-4), IL-10 by peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) from patients with tuberculosis. ⋯ IL-7 and IL-15 could affect the balance between Th1 and Th2 cytokines by inducing IFN-gamma and TNF-alpha production and inhibiting IL-4 and IL-10 expression. It is suggested that IL-7 and IL-15 may enhance the defense against infection of tuberculosis, and therefore may be useful for the treatment of the disease.

[The mechanisms of carbon monoxide inhalation on the apoptosis of pulmonary cells in rats with acute lung injury induced by lipopolysaccharide].
To investigate the effects of carbon monoxide (CO) inhalation on the apoptosis of pulmonary cells in rats with acute lung injury (ALI) induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and to investigate its mechanisms. ⋯ CO inhalation protects lung from injury by regulating oxidative/anti-oxidative and inflammatory/anti-inflammatory disorders, inhibiting excessive cell apoptosis and up-regulating HO-1 expression, which may play an important role in the pathogenesis of LPS-induced ALI.
