Low back pain is an important health problem causing serious physical, psychological, and economic losses in developed and developing countries. ⋯ While the functional performance, job satisfaction level, and quality of life in office workers with NSLBP with severe-intensity pain were lower, level of disability, depression were higher in office workers with NSLBP with mild-to-moderate-intensity pain.

Sacroiliac joint (SIJ) dysfunction is a significant contributor to lower back pain. Although open surgical treatment for persistent pain has long been the standard, it is associated with significant surgical morbidity, high complication rates, and variable patient satisfaction. Minimally invasive SIJ fusion (MISJF) is a promising and effective approach. This scoping review was carried out to map the available evidence on outcomes after MISJF. ⋯ This study highlights the existing literature regarding outcomes after MISJF. MISJF provides favorable responses in quality-of-life metrics, pain scores, and overall postoperative outcomes in select patients. Although outcomes have been widely studied, more studies, especially prospectively designed and those without industry influence, should be performed to elucidate the optimal management of patients with intractable SIJ pain.

To examine associations between allergies, low back pain (LBP), walking, and sedentary time in a representative sample of adults aged 50 years and older. ⋯ Nurses should emphasize the impact of allergies on LBP. The advantages of walking and non-sedentary lifestyles for preventing or relieving chronic conditions should be routinely included in patient education; however, their preventive role in LBP should be underscored for those without allergies.

Efficacy of Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation and Interferential Current on Tactile Acuity of Individuals With Nonspecific Chronic Low Back Pain.
Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) and interferential currents (IFC) are pain electrotherapies with questioned efficacy. Studies of their effects on tactile acuity of individuals with nonspecific chronic low back pain (NSCLBP) are limited, hence, this study. ⋯ TENS increases the tactile acuity of individuals with NSCLBP, whereas IFC demonstrated no significant change in tactile acuity.

Prevalence, patterns, functional disability of Bertolotti syndrome among patients with low back pain at Mulago National Referral Hospital.
Bertolotti syndrome is a differential diagnosis in back pain. We know little about it in Uganda. This study aimed to describe the prevalence, clinical and radiological patterns of Bertolotti syndrome and functional disability associated with it. ⋯ Bertolotti syndrome is common and functionally debilitating. We should consider it in the differential diagnosis of chronic low back pain.
