Ensitrelvir fumaric acid (ensitrelvir) is an orally active 3C-like protease inhibitor used to treat severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection. Ensitrelvir was granted an emergency use authorization in Japan in 2022, but reports on the effectiveness and safety of ensitrelvir in actual clinical settings are limited. ⋯ Our results provide information on the real-world usage of ensitrelvir in elderly, hospitalized patients with COVID-19, and suggests that ensitrelvir is an option for treatment of COVID-19 in these population.

Genotype Analysis of Respiratory Syncytial Virus Before and After the COVID-19 Pandemic Using Whole-Genome Sequencing: A Prospective, Single-Center Study in Korea From 2019 to 2022.
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), a highly transmissible virus, is the leading cause of lower respiratory tract infections. We examined molecular changes in the RSV genome before and after the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic in Korea, and investigated whether drug-resistant mutations were present. ⋯ Despite the unprecedented interruption of RSV seasonality, there were no significant molecular changes in circulating RSV strains in Korea related to nirsevimab or palivizumab resistance before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. However, RSV-specific drug-resistance substitutions for suptavumab were identified.

Ongoing Decline in Continuity With GPs in English General Practices: A Longitudinal Study Across the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Relationship continuity of care has declined across English primary health care, with cross-sectional and longitudinal variations between general practices predicted by population and service factors. We aimed to describe cross-sectional and longitudinal variations across the COVID-19 pandemic and determine whether practice factors predicted the variations. ⋯ Variables potentially associated with greater appointment availability predicted slower declines in continuity, with worsening declines and relative variability immediately after the COVID-19 lockdown, possibly reflecting surges in demand. To achieve better levels of continuity for those seeking it, practices can increase appointment availability within appointment systems that prioritize continuity.Annals Early Access article.

Multicenter StudyClinical characteristics and outcomes of psoriasis patients with COVID-19: A retrospective, multicenter cohort study in China.
Limited information exists regarding the impact of severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection on psoriasis patients. The objective of this study was to identify clinical factors associated with the prognosis of psoriasis following SARS-CoV-2 infection. ⋯ A reduced risk of psoriasis exacerbation after SARS-CoV-2 infection was observed with biologics compared to traditional systemic and nonsystemic treatments. Significant risk factors for exacerbation after infection were identified as existing psoriatic lesions and hypertension.

Pregnancy and perinatal outcomes of women with SARS-CoV-2 infection during pregnancy.
This study aimed to compare the pregnancy and perinatal outcomes of women with and without severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection during pregnancy. ⋯ The pregnancy and perinatal outcomes of women who were infected with SARS-CoV-2 during gestation appear favourable.
