Medication Adherence Evaluated Through Electronic Monitors During the 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic Lockdown in Switzerland: A Longitudinal Analysis.
During the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown, patients included in the Interprofessional Medication Adherence Program (IMAP) in Switzerland continued to use electronic monitors (EMs) that registered daily drug-dose intake. We aimed to understand to what extent patients' medication implementation (ie, the extent to which the patient took the prescribed medicine), measured with EMs, was impacted by the lockdown. ⋯ Medication implementation remained steady before, during and after the lockdown in 2020. The IMAP before, during and after the lockdown may have supported the adherence of most patients, by ensuring continuity of care during periods of routine disturbances.

Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices of Adult Iraqi Population Towards COVID-19 Booster Dose: A Cross-Sectional Study.
COVID-19 vaccines are critical for containing the pandemic and preventing serious SARS-CoV-2 infections. In addition to the two main doses, a booster dose has been utilized to improve immunity. The aim of current study is to evaluate Iraqi adult population knowledge, attitudes, and practices towards COVID-19 booster dose. ⋯ There is high hesitancy towards COVID-19 booster dose acceptance among the Iraqi population. The study identified several factors associated with vaccine hesitancy including low socioeconomic status and low knowledge about COVID-19 and its vaccines.

As of March 2020, skin lesions associated with COVID-19 have been described. The objectives of the study were to characterize the skin lesions in these patients, analyze their temporal relationship, association with the severity of the disease, extracutaneous symptoms and laboratory parameters. A prospective, observational, analytical and cross-sectional study was conducted in hospitalized patients diagnosed with COVID-19. ⋯ This work shows the skin manifestations in patients hospitalized with COVID-19 in our environment. The most prevalent pattern was the maculopapular rash that was associated with the moderate form of the disease. The appearance of lesions 2 weeks after the onset of COVID-19 symptoms was associated with secondary dermatoses.

Polio, measles, rubella, influenza and rotavirus surveillance programmes are of great public health importance globally. Virus isolation using cell culture is an integral part of such programmes. Possibility of unintended isolation of SARS-CoV-2 from clinical specimens processed in biosafety level-2 (BSL-2) laboratories during the above-mentioned surveillance programmes, cannot be ruled out. The present study was conducted to assess the susceptibility of different cell lines to SARS-CoV-2 used in these programmes. ⋯ Replication of SARS-CoV-2 in Vero/hSLAM and MA-104 underscores the possibility of its unintended isolation during surveillance procedures aiming to isolate measles, rubella and rotavirus. This could result in accidental exposure to high titres of SARS-CoV-2, which can result in laboratory acquired infections and community risk, highlighting the need for revisiting biosafety measures in public health laboratories.
