Case ReportsClopidogrel-induced thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura: a case report.
Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) is a rare variant of thrombotic microangiopathy. We report a case of TTP in a Nigerian chronic kidney disease (CKD) patient who was previously on clopidogrel. ⋯ Clopidogrel is a cardio-protective anti-platelet drug used in CKD patients at risk of dyspepsia. However, its potential to cause TTP should be recognized and considered in acute kidney injury (AKI) patients previously on clopidogrel.

CD4/CD8 Ratio could be predictor of burden hepatocellular carcinoma in Egyptian chronic hepatitis C after combined sofosbuvir and daclatasvir therapy.
During the first years of the use of direct acting Hepatitis C antiviral drugs (DAAS), several studies reported a possible correlation between this new era of treatment and an increased risk of Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Its development could possibly be favored by the changes in the immunological milieu and the different cellular behavior after eradication of HCV infection with them. For this reason, this study aimed to address the immunological effect of DAAS. ⋯ HCV treatment by DAAS produces significant decrease in T helper, T cytotoxic cells in CHC patients at the end of therapy. 26.6% developed focal HCC with independent CD4/CD8 predictor for burden malignancy. Further large extended population study is needed for clarify this concern.

Nutritional knowledge, dietary habits and nutritional status of adults living in urban Communities in Lagos State.
Malnutrition is a major threat to the world's public health. While under-nutrition and micronutrient deficiencies persist, obesity is increasing worldwide. Although malnutrition has been extensively researched among children, it has become of increasing concern among adults because of the relative increase in the prevalence of diet-related non-communicable diseases (NCDs). ⋯ Nutritional knowledge was poor and obesity was relatively high among participants. Improved nutrition education intervention is necessary to increase knowledge and reduce obesity among adults living in urban communities in Lagos, Nigeria.
