Bladder perforation due to laparoscopic peritoneal dialysis catheterization: A case report and literature review.
Complications related to the peritoneal dialysis (PD) catheter are the primary cause of treatment failure in PD, and bladder perforation is a rare complication of PD catheter placement. To date, there have been no reported cases of bladder perforation occurring during laparoscopic PD catheter placement. ⋯ During laparoscopy, PD catheter placement still carries the risk of rare complications such as bladder perforation. If postoperative PD catheter patients experience urinary urgency and frequency, there should be a high suspicion of bladder perforation. Early diagnosis and surgical intervention are crucial for improving patient prognosis.

Deciphering the role of LncRNA in alcoholic liver disease: Mechanisms and therapeutic potential.
Alcoholic liver disease (ALD) is a spectrum of liver damage caused by chronic alcohol consumption. The disease progresses in stages, starting with simple fatty liver, progressing to alcoholic hepatitis and potentially leading to fibrosis and cirrhosis. ⋯ Recent research has highlighted the role of long non-coding RNAs (LncRNAs) as critical regulators in the development and progression of ALD. This article reviews the current understanding of LncRNAs in ALD, focusing on their functions in key pathological processes and their potential as diagnostic markers and therapeutic targets.

Ultrasound-guided anterior iliopsoas muscle space block compared with fascia iliaca compartment block in elderly hip surgery: A randomized controlled trial.
Elderly hip fracture patients experience severe pain. Surgical stress and pain during position changes for spinal anesthesia puncture can adversely affect hemodynamics. The objective of this study was to compare the perioperative analgesic efficacy of anterior iliopsoas muscle space block with supra-inguinal fascia iliaca compartment block (S-FICB) in elderly patients undergoing hip surgery. ⋯ In elderly hip fracture patients, the anterior iliopsoas space block works slightly better than S-FICB at providing effective perioperative analgesia.

This review aims to provide a recent update on the Hippo pathway in oral diseases. The Hippo pathway plays a crucial role in organ development, tissue regeneration, wound healing, maintaining epithelial homeostasis, and modulating the immune system. ⋯ The implications of Hippo signaling in various dental fields, including endodontics, orthodontics, periodontology, oral implantology, oral and maxillofacial surgery, and oncology are discussed. It provides readers with an overview of the regulatory role of the Hippo pathway in the development of various oral diseases and the potential for exploiting this pathway for developing targeted therapeutics.
