As the elderly population grows, the number of joint arthroplasty surgeries is also increasing. Periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) is a postoperative complication that occurs in 1%-2% of the arthroplasties. Once it occurs, PJI is refractory to treatment. Similar symptoms of PJI, including joint synovitis and elevated body temperature, sometimes arise because of crystal arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, or other inflammatory diseases. Precise diagnosis is essential for determining the optimal treatment strategy. ⋯ High fever and synovitis after joint arthroplasty do not necessarily indicate an infectious condition. Clinicians should be familiar with the occurrence of RS3PE, regardless of whether arthroplasty is performed.

Review Case Reports
Primary pulmonary alveolar soft part sarcoma with ASPSCR1-TFE3 gene fusion: Case report and literature review.
Primary pulmonary alveolar soft part sarcoma (ASPS) is an extremely rare disease characterized by a specific genetic abnormality - the ASPSCR1-TFE3 gene fusion. ⋯ This case report highlights the importance of detailed diagnosis, prompt treatment, and close monitoring of patients with ASPS.

The causal relationships between amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Parkinson disease and different intensities of physical activity (PA) are still inconclusive. To evaluate the causal impact of PA on ALS and Parkinson disease (PD), this study integrates evidence from Mendelian randomization (MR) using a meta-analysis approach. ⋯ Our findings showed no causal relationships between MVPA, VPA, SSOE, and PD, while MVPA, VPA, and SSOE were associated with increased ALS risk, highlighting the need for targeted PA recommendations for disease management.

The predictive implications of the pretreatment systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) and lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR) in oral cavity cancer have been investigated extensively, however, the findings are conflicting. ⋯ High SII and low LMR may predict worse survival in patients with oral cavity cancer. SII and LMR may therefore represent effective indicators of prognosis in oral cavity cancer.

Meta Analysis
Day napping and metabolic-associated fatty liver disease: A systematic review and meta-analysis of observational studies.
Napping inevitably affects human health, and the association between napping and metabolism-related diseases is being more seriously considered. However, the conclusions of studies on the relationship between napping and fatty liver disease (NAFLD)/metabolic-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) remain controversial. ⋯ Patients with NAFLD/MAFLD may had higher prevalence of napping habit. Future research is warranted to conduct a dose-response analysis, measure the effects of confounding factors, and explore the causal relationships between NAFLD/MAFLD. The research protocol was registered and approved in PROSPERO (registration no: CRD42023439507).
