Maternal opioid use disorder and infant mortality in Wisconsin, United States, 2010-2018.
The difference in infant health outcomes by maternal opioid use disorder (OUD) status is understudied. We measured the association between maternal OUD during pregnancy and infant mortality and investigated whether this association differs by infant neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome (NOWS) or maternal receipt of medication for OUD (MOUD) during pregnancy. ⋯ Maternal OUD is associated with an elevated risk of infant mortality without evidence of modification by NOWS nor by maternal MOUD treatment. Future research should investigate potential mechanisms linking maternal OUD, NOWS, MOUD treatment, and infant mortality to better inform clinical intervention.

Young-onset chronic kidney disease in Mexico: Secondary analysis of global burden of disease study, 1990-2019.
To report the burden of young-onset chronic kidney disease (CKD) in Mexico from 1990 to 2019, and to assess the association between young-onset CKD burden with the Socio-Demographic Index (SDI), and the Healthcare Access and Quality Index (HAQ). ⋯ In the last 30 years, the burden of early-onset chronic CKD has had an unprecedented increase among the Mexican population, compromising the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals. This will be unattainable if actions to promote healthy lifestyles and prevent kidney disease are not immediately established and articulated, starting with the youngest age groups.

Review Meta AnalysisEffectiveness of multiple health behavior change interventions in reducing symptoms of anxiety in the adult population: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
There is limited evidence regarding the effectiveness of preventive interventions for anxiety disorders. We aim to test the effectiveness of multiple health behavior change (MHBC) interventions in the reduction of symptoms of anxiety in the adult population. A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) was conducted by searching the most relevant databases and registry platforms in the area. ⋯ The effect became non-significant when only studies with a low risk of bias were included. There was substantial and significant heterogeneity between the studies. There is currently insufficient evidence regarding the effectiveness of MHBC interventions to reduce symptoms of anxiety in the adult population.

Review Meta AnalysisAssociation between multimorbidity of pregnancy and adverse birth outcomes: A systemic review and meta-analysis.
Multimorbidity (≥2 co-existing conditions) in pregnancy is a significant public health issue with a rising prevalence worldwide. However, the association between pregnancy multimorbidity and adverse birth outcomes is unclear. So, this review assessed the association between pregnancy-multimorbidity and adverse birth outcomes (preterm birth, abnormal birth weight, neonatal mortality, and stillbirth). ⋯ Pregnancy multimorbidity was associated with preterm birth 4.28(2.23-6.34), large gestational age (>90 percentile) 3.33(1.50-5.17), macrosomia (≥4000 g) 2.16(0.34-3.98), and small gestational age (<10th percentile) 3.52(1.54-5.51). There is substantial variance in the odds of pregnancy multimorbidity by type of comorbidity and type of adverse birth outcome, attributed to differences in the healthcare system by geographical location. Therefore, prioritizing pregnant women with multimorbidity is crucial for effective and integrative interventions.

Review Meta AnalysisWhat rate of Iranian women perform Pap smear test? Results from a meta-analysis.
In this study, an attempt was made to estimate the aggregated proportion of Pap smear test uptake among women in Iran from 2012 to 2022 using meta-analysis. The data collection process involved reviewing records registered in databases between January 1, 2012, and September 11, 2022. The final data was analyzed using random effects models, and potential heterogeneity was assessed using the I2 index. ⋯ No significant evidence of publication bias was detected, although the influence of smaller studies was confirmed. Sensitivity analysis indicated that the overall rate of Pap smear test uptake was not highly sensitive to the results of individual studies. The findings emphasize the low rate of regular Pap smear testing among Iranian women and suggest that tailored interventions considering cultural and geographical factors specific to different provinces in Iran could help increase the utilization of this screening service.
