Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyHyperpolarized (3) He and (129) Xe MRI: differences in asthma before bronchodilation.
To compare hyperpolarized helium-3 ((3) He) and xenon-129 ((129) Xe) MRI in asthmatics before and after salbutamol inhalation. ⋯ In asthma, hyperpolarized (129) Xe MRI may help reveal ventilation abnormalities before bronchodilation that are not observed using hyperpolarized (3) He MRI.

Noncontrast-enhanced magnetic resonance angiography and venography imaging with enhanced angiography.
To achieve simultaneous high-resolution magnetic resonance angiography and venography (MRAV) imaging in terms of enhanced time-of-flight (TOF) angiography and susceptibility-weighted imaging (SWI), with a clear separation of arteries and veins. ⋯ Using the proposed interleaved double-echo sequence along with the NLS postprocessing method, one can simultaneously obtain both high-quality SWI and significantly enhanced TOF MRA with clear separation of arterial and venous maps.

Comparative StudyFree breathing three-dimensional gradient echo-sequence with radial data sampling (radial 3D-GRE) examination of the pancreas: Comparison with standard 3D-GRE volumetric interpolated breathhold examination (VIBE).
To evaluate the diagnostic performance of free breathing three-dimensional gradient echo-sequence with radial data sampling (radial 3D-GRE) in MR imaging of the normal and diseased pancreas, using standard 3D-GRE for comparison in cooperative patients, and to perform a preliminary assessment in noncooperative patients. ⋯ Free breathing radial 3D-GRE may be applicable for pancreatic MR imaging in patients who are unable to suspend respiration.

Crushed rephased orthogonal slice selection (CROSS) for simultaneous acquisition of two orthogonal proton resonance frequency temperature maps.
To evaluate a novel imaging sequence termed crushed rephased orthogonal slice selection (CROSS) that uses the available time in long echo time (TE) gradient echo (GRE) imaging-as employed for proton resonance frequency (PRF) shift thermometry-to simultaneously acquire two orthogonal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) temperature maps around the target region. ⋯ At the expense of a reduced signal in the overlap of the two slices, the CROSS sequence achieves an improvement of temporal resolution by 50%, without requiring further acceleration techniques such as parallel imaging, over conventional sequential GRE sequences employing the same repetition time as the CROSS sequence acquires two slices within one repetition interval.

Comparative StudyClinical application of controlled aliasing in parallel imaging results in a higher acceleration (CAIPIRINHA)-volumetric interpolated breathhold (VIBE) sequence for gadoxetic acid-enhanced liver MR imaging.
To determine whether a controlled aliasing in parallel imaging results in higher acceleration (CAIPIRINHA) technique can improve the image quality of three-dimensional (3D), T1-weighted gradient echo (T1w-GRE) imaging compared with the use of a standard, parallel acquisition technique (PAT). ⋯ The CAIPIRINHA-VIBE was able to provide a higher spatial resolution, T1-weighted imaging with better image quality compared with a standard VIBE.
