Case ReportsA RARE PRESENTATION OF GENITOURINARY TUBERCULOSIS MIMICKING ABDOMINAL TUMOR.
Genital tuberculosis is a rare and unexpected disease in European countries including Croatia. Diagnosis of female genital tract tuberculosis is challenging and is rarely pin-pointed by clinical symptoms because of their low specificity. The authors decided to present a case of genitourinary tuberculosis in a young, immunocompetent fertile woman with high clinical suspicion of abdominal tumor mass. Although considered a desease of the past, rare clinical presentation of genital tuberculosis should be expected and taken into account.

IMPACT OF CHEMOTHERAPY-INDUCED PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY ON THE QUALITY OF LIFE IN CANCER PATIENTS.
The aim of the study was to investigate the correlation between chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) and quality of life, as well as to establish whether there was a difference in peripheral neuropathy symptoms and their effect on the quality of life depending on the type of agents applied. The study encompassed 156 patients treated at the Department of Oncology from March to May 2017. ⋯ Oxaliplatin had a significantly greater effect on the onset of motor and sensory neuropathy than taxane and cisplatin/carboplatin. Nursing interventions based on specific characteristics of certain chemotherapeutic agents should be developed for CIPN alleviation.

CROATIAN ADAPTATION AND VALIDATION OF THE PERCEIVED IMPLICIT RATIONING OF NURSING CARE (PIRNCA) QUESTIONNAIRE: A CROSS-SECTIONAL STUDY.
The aim was to perform adaptation and validation of the Perceived Implicit Rationing of Nursing Care. Implicit delaying of nursing care is an intermediate step, linking nurses with the quality of outcomes for patients and nurses, and it is the result of prioritization of health care measures within the assigned group of patients cared for by nurses. The Perceived Implicit Rationing of Nursing Care instrument is a tool used to assess the rationing of care in nursing practice. ⋯ Additionally, the reliability of the whole questionnaire was determined by using the internal consistency coefficient Cronbach alpha on the Perceived Implicit Rationing of Nursing Care with 31 of 0.96 particles, which is extremely high internal consistency reliability. In conclusion, the study found a high level of reliability and validity of the translated Perceived Implicit Rationing of Nursing Care questionnaire, fully comparable to that of the original. The questionnaire can be used to assess the phenomenon of implicit care rationing in Croatian hospitals.

Treatment of glioblastoma is challenging due to its aggressive and highly invasive nature, and no significant advances in survival have been achieved recently. The aim of our retrospective study was identification of predictive factors and consequent survival outcome in patients who underwent surgical and oncologic treatment of glioblastoma. The study was conducted at the Department of Neurosurgery, Osijek University Hospital Centre. ⋯ Statistical analysis of study results revealed a significant impact of postoperative radiotherapy (p=0.002) and chemotherapy (p=0.016) on progression-free survival and overall survival (p=0.001 and p=0.009, respectively). Postoperative Karnofsky performance scale (p=0.027) was found to be significant in progression-free survival, and so was the interval between surgery and commencement of oncologic therapy (p=0.049). In conclusion, overall survival and prognosis in the treatment of glioblastoma remain poor, although prompt approach in postoperative adjuvant treatments improved progression-free survival.

FORAMEN OVALE AND FORAMEN ROTUNDUM: CHARACTERIZATION OF POSTNATAL DEVELOPMENT.
The sphenoid bone development occurs in both prenatal and postnatal periods. Sphenoid bone openings are used as surgical landmarks and are of great importance for neurosurgeons in everyday practice. The aim of this study was to identify morphological characteristics, postnatal development and remodeling, as well as clinical aspect of the sphenoid bone openings and to investigate their relationship and difference in size. ⋯ The most common shape of foramen ovale on both sides was oval, followed by the round, almond and elongated shapes. Modest to strong positive correlations between all foramina and age for the whole sample and both subsamples were presented, except for the right foramen rotundum area in the male subsample, which did not show significant correlation with age. Our study revealed changes in postnatal development and anatomy of foramen ovale and foramen rotundum, primarily in the aspects of size and shape, and should contribute to reducing the risk of damage to neurovascular structures during surgical procedures.
