Brucellosis is a zoonotic disease with a wide range of ophthalmic manifestations, including optic neuritis. It is most commonly caused by the consumption of raw or unpasteurised dairy products. We report a case of a 43-year male patient with an altitudinal visual field defect and unilateral optic neuritis caused by Brucella. ⋯ The ocular involvement of Brucella remains poorly understood. Case ReportsEthylenediaminetetraacetic Acid-induced Pseudothrombocytopenia in Association with Graves' Hyperthyroidism.
Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid-dependent pseudothrombocytopenia (EDTA-PTCP) is an in vitro phenomenon of EDTA-induced platelet aggregation. A number of mechanisms have been proposed to account for this phenomenon. EDTA-PTCP has been found in healthy subjects and patients with a variety of conditions, including viral infections, cardiovascular disease, liver disease, neoplastic diseases and autoimmune diseases. ⋯ With the improvement of hyperthyroidism, the phenomenon of EDTA-PTCP disappeared. So far, EDTA-PTCP related to Graves' hyperthyroidism has not been reported in the literature. Key Words: Hyperthyroidism, Thrombocytopenia, Autoimmune diseases, Platelet aggregation, Edetic acid.

Case ReportsSimultaneous Living Kidney And Liver Transplantation in a Young Male From Two Living Donors.
Simultaneous kidney and liver transplantation (SKLT) is the surgical treatment modality for combined liver and kidney failure. Although it is a challenging procedure, but has got the added advantage of a single procedure and common immunosuppression therapy. Recently, the practice of deceased donors SKLT has increased dramatically in the West. ⋯ Here, we describe a successful SKLT procedure from two separate living donors in a 31-year male, who presented with end-stage renal disease secondary to hypertensive nephropathy and decompensated chronic liver disease secondary to hepatitis C infection. The patient had a smooth recovery and on 1-year follow-up, he is stable. Key Words: Simultaneous, Liver, Kidney, Transplantation.

Case ReportsSpontaneous Cervical Epidural Abscess Caused by Serratia Marcescens.
Serratia marcescens infections are very rare and usually occur in the form of nosocomial and opportunistic infections. The subjects usually have severe medical comorbidities such as immunosuppression, diabetes mellitus, and renal failure. Spontaneous Serratia marcescens infection is very rare. ⋯ The abscess that created a cervical mass effect was totally removed and treatment with oral antibiotics was continued due to S. marcescens growth in the culture. This is the first case where S. marcescens has caused the development of a cervical epidural abscess in a patient without any medical comorbidity. Key Words: Serratia marcescens, Spinal epidural abscess, Vertebral osteomyelitis, Cervical discitis.
