Comparative StudyClinical evaluation of double-plate osteosynthesis for olecranon fractures: A retrospective case-control study.
Single, dorsal plating is a commonly used technique for treating olecranon fractures. Double-plate osteosynthesis is an alternative treatment. Aim of this study was to present the surgical technique using this novel double-plate implant for olecranon fractures and review clinical results, complication rates and revision surgeries. Results were compared to single, dorsal plating. ⋯ III, retrospective case-control study.

Observational StudyPrevious arthroscopic Bankart repair is an independent risk factor for an inferior outcome after Latarjet procedure.
There is limited evidence that the Latarjet procedure has a worse outcome as a revision operation, after a failed stabilization surgery, compared with when it is the primary procedure for posttraumatic anteroinferior instability of the shoulder joint. ⋯ IV, cohort observational study.

The top 100 most-cited Orthopaedics & Traumatology: Surgery & Research articles.
The French peer-reviewed journal Revue d'Orthopédie founded on 1st January 1890 extended its scope in 2009 by creating the English-language, online-only, indexed journal Orthopaedics & Traumatology: Surgery & Research (OTSR). Bibliometric data help authors and readers assess the citation potential of articles published in a given journal. We found no bibliometrics for the first 10years of OTSR. The objectives of this bibliometric study were to identify (i) the 100 most-cited OTSR articles and (ii) the specialties or article types most often involved in citations. ⋯ IV, systematic retrospective analysis.

Full-text publication rate of studies reported as 2013 SoFCOT meeting abstracts.
Publication of scientific work, although mandatory to ensure dissemination of novel research findings and obtain further funding, can require considerably more time and effort compared to conference presentations. Several national or scientific societies have determined the publication rate of studies reported at their meetings. The French Society for Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery (Société française de chirurgie orthopédique et traumatologique, SoFCOT) has not yet measured this parameter. The objective of this study was to (i) evaluate the full-text publication rate of studies accepted in abstract form for podium presentations or posters at the 2013 SoFCOT meeting and (ii) identify characteristics of abstracts associated with subsequent full-text publication. ⋯ IV, systematic retrospective analysis.

Risk factors for dislocation after revision total hip arthroplasty with a dual-mobility cup. Matched case-control study (16 cases vs. 48 controls).
Reports of high dislocation rates after revision total hip arthroplasty (THA) have encouraged the widespread use of dual-mobility cups. Dislocation has been less common but not fully abolished with dual-mobility cups, and its causes have remained unidentified. The objectives of this retrospective matched case-control study were: 1) to identify risk factors for dislocation, 2) and to assess dislocation outcomes. ⋯ III, matched case-control study.
