[Kidney injury in transplantation-associated thrombotic microangiopathy].
To study clinicopathological features and mechanism of renal injury in transplantation-associated thrombotic microangiopathy (TA-TMA). ⋯ TA-TMA is a rare complication after organ or tissue transplantation. Kidney is often involved in TA-TMA with massive proteinuria, anemia and renal failure. Differential diagnosis should be made between TA-TMA and rejection or other renal diseases. Renal biopsy is a major method for accurate diagnosis. TA-TMA correlates to endothelial cell injury caused by viral infection and/or immunosuppressive drugs for anti-rejection.

Review[Progress in the study of the chemical synapse in glioma-associated epileptogenesis].
Seizures may be the first or sometimes the only manifestation of patients with glioma in clinics. The aim of operation is to eliminate epilepsy far beyond mere resection of tumor mass. ⋯ However, the molecular mechanisms remain to be further investigated on how glutamate release is regulated and how synaptic homeostasis in peripheral neurons is kept or disturbed. So detailed studies are needed to clarify specific molecular target and provide proper evidence for optimal antiepileptic drugs in glioma-associated epileptogenesis.

[Effect of acute progressive normovolemic hemodilution with lactated Ringer's, gelatin and hydroxyethyl starch on coagulation and survival rate in rabbits].
To observe acute progressive normovolemic hemodilution with lactated Ringer's, gelatins, and hydroxyethyl starch in vivo and in vitro on blood coagulation and survival rate and time in rabbits. ⋯ With in vitro hemodilution, the initiation of coagulation is unaffected or decreased. However with in vivo hemodilution, initiation of coagulation is accelerated or unchanged. The discrepancy between in vivo and in vitro hemodilution, indicates an unknown internal mechanism to promote initiation of coagulation. Hemodilution makes the toughness of clot soften. and the longest survival time in profound hemodilution associated with hydroxyethyl starch.

[Total hepatic ischemia-reperfusion-induced lung injury in rats and protective effects of melatonin].
To explore total hepatic ischemia-reperfusion(I/R)-induced lung injury in rats, its related mechanism and the protective effects of melatonin on lungs. ⋯ Total hepatic I/R led to severe lung injury. The aggravation of lipid peroxidation, reduced capability of scavenging free radical and aggravation of apoptosis were important factors causing hepatic I/R induced lung injury. Melatonin had protective effect on lung injury induced by total hepatic I/R, which was mediated by anti-oxidation and anti-apoptosis, but the relationship between melatonin's protective effects and activation of ERK1/2 signal transduction pathway remained to be explored.

[Significance of endogenous sulfur dioxide in the regulation of cardiovascular system].
Since the 1980's nitric oxide (NO), carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrogen sulfide (H(2)S), the endogenous gas molecules produced from metabolic pathway, have been realized as signal molecules to be involved in the regulation of body homeostasis and to play important roles under physiological and pathophysiological conditions. The researches on these endogenous gas signal molecules opened a new avenue in life science. To explore the new member of gasotransmitter family, other endogenous gas molecules which have been regarded as metabolic waste up to date, and their biological regulatory effects have been paid close attention to in the current fields of life science and medicine. ⋯ Moreover, SO(2) might play considerable roles in the regulation of systemic circulatory pressure, pulmonary circulatory pressure and vascular structural remodeling in the pathogenesis of hypertension and hypoxic pulmonary hypertension. On the basis of the above findings, we presumed that endogenous SO(2) might be a novel cardiovascular functional regulatory gasotransmitter. More studies on the significance of endogenous SO(2) in cardiovascular system under physiological and pathophysiological conditions need to be investigated.
