Recently, JAKi has also been widely proved to be an effective alternative to conventional treatment for Synovitis acne pustulosis-hyperostosis-osteitis (SAPHO) cases, after failure of multiple drugs including those described above. But what to do when all these treatments fail? We report a case of remission from Tripterygium wilfordii Hook (TwHF) treatment. ⋯ In this study, TwHF was successful in treating a patient with refractory SAPHO syndrome who was refractory to multiple Western medications without significant adverse effects or toxicities, but further follow-up is needed to determine long-term efficacy. More case reports as well as clinical trials are still needed to confirm whether TwHF can effectively treat refractory SAPHO syndrome.

Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) involves autoimmune and inflammatory responses in the central nervous system, primarily affecting the optic nerves and spinal cord. Atypical presentations such as ataxia and syncope complicate the diagnosis, and lesions in the medulla are easily mistaken for cerebral infarction. This case report emphasizes the need to recognize such manifestations to avoid misdiagnosis and ensure timely treatment. ⋯ Atypical manifestations of NMOSD, such as ataxia, syncope, and trigeminal neuralgia, increase diagnostic difficulty. Recognizing these symptoms is crucial to avoid misdiagnosis and ensure timely and appropriate treatment for patients.

Bacterascites are a rare complication of cesarean sections (C/S). Here, we report the case of a patient with bacterascites after an emergent C/S. ⋯ Postoperative bacterascites with Salmonella were diagnosed. Antibiotic treatment and therapeutic paracentesis were effective for this condition.

Controlled Clinical Trial
Effects of the Internet-based rehabilitation information sharing program on psychological stress of family caregivers of inpatients: A non-randomized controlled study.
The psychological impact of Internet-based rehabilitation information provision on family caregivers of inpatients has not yet been investigated. This study investigated the impact of the Internet-based rehabilitation information sharing program on anxiety and depression among family caregivers of inpatients. Participants were patients admitted to a rehabilitation hospital and their families. ⋯ The median difference in anxiety scores from discharge to 1 month post-discharge was -1.0 (interquartile range [IQR]: -2.0 to 0.8) in the ICT group versus 1.0 (IQR: -1.0 to 2.0) in the control group. The median difference in depression scores from admission to discharge was 0.5 (IQR: -1.0 to 2.8) in the ICT group and 2.0 (IQR: 1.0-3.8) in the control group. The Internet-based rehabilitation information sharing program may help reduce the family caregivers' psychological stress, enabling improved patient care.

Compensatory strategies of dysphagia after anterior cervical spinal surgery: A case report.
Dysphagia after anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) is a common postoperative complication. However, information regarding rehabilitation strategies for postoperative dysphagia is limited. Herein, we report a compensatory strategy for treating dysphagia after ACDF. ⋯ Consequently, swallowing function post-ACDF surgery must be assessed; if unilateral dysphagia is detected, compensatory techniques may prove beneficial. This case study showed that, based on the objective findings of the VFSS, an effective swallowing compensation strategy can be established and applied to patients with postoperative dysphagia.
